The morning session was the Social Media Breakfast Bootcamp, focusing on using social marketing tools to build your company. Hence, why this will be my first post on mynameisgregg.com. Very informational yet highly informal. Key takeaways for me:

Letting users login using their facebook or twitter accounts to login to other websites. I love this tool because it lowers the number of accounts a user will accumulate, and therefor reduces hesitancy to join your sign and contribute to your community. I’ve come accross this problem before and, personally, this is a great solution for my clients.

Linking FB, Twitter and blogs. Great idea! This came out of Michael Troia no’s thesis of making your site a hub, versus beng an island. I think it was 80% of information is absored through someplace other than it’s source. If we can increase the radius of the source, it is that much more likely our information will be consumed.

Many highlights to the day, such as talking one on one with Jeff Cutler, making a few business contacts and overall having a great time.

And what better way to finish a great day in Cambridge than stopping by the Cambridge Brewing Company for a fresh amber ale. Cheers!
